USA - Regulatory Services

Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)

The United States pesticides market is regulated by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). The FIFRA provides the legal framework for the distribution, sale, and use of pesticides  on the US market. All pesticides distributed or sold in the United States must be registered (licensed) by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Before the EPA may register a pesticide under FIFRA, the applicant must show, among other things, that using the pesticide according to specifications "will not generally cause unreasonable adverse effects on the environment.''

These products must also be registered in each individual US state or territory in which they are to be distributed, as state-level regulatory requirements for pesticides registration may differ to those at federal level.

We work closely with our US partner who has a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance plus good working relationships with the EPA and numerous national pesticide organizations. Through this collaboration, SCC can guarantee smooth registration of your pesticide active ingredient or product on the US market.
